Jim Wright to Develop the Design At Knightsbridge Portfolio

Knightsbridge Furniture has appointed Design Consultant James (Jim) Wright to develop new lines for its Design at Knightsbridge portfolio of seating and occasional furniture for the hotel and leisure markets.

Jim graduated in furniture design in 1983 and so brings over 25 years of experience in the contract furnishing industry with him to Knightsbridge. After a period working in bespoke furniture creation, he realised his future lay in designing seating for the hospitality arena, since when he has worked in a freelance capacity for some of the leading names in UK furniture manufacture.

Jim Wright maintains a very individual and ‘hands on’ approach to product design, development and presentation: as Knightsbridge Design Consultant, he is keen to introduce his latest concepts in person to key interior designers and specifiers working within the international hospitality sector, welcoming their feedback and cementing the company’s relations with buyers across the industry.

A programme of additions to the Design at Knightsbridge portfolio is already underway, with product launches scheduled throughout 2009 and beyond. For details, or to contact Jim Wright in person, e-mail design@knightsbridge-furniture.co.uk or visit the brand’s dedicated website at www.design-at-knightsbridge.co.uk

James A Wright Introduces 'Harvey'

New from Design at Knightsbridge is ‘Harvey’, an exclusive series of chairs created for the company by design consultant James A Wright.

Distinguished by its timeless, reserved styling and exceptional levels of both comfort and durability, ‘Harvey’ has been designed for use in restaurants and bars, meeting rooms and bedrooms throughout the hospitality, leisure and cruise ship sectors.

The hallmark of the collection is the elegant detailing which flows from chair to chair across frame and upholstery alike. The distinctive ribbed back has been precision-machined in timber by Knightsbridge craftsmen drawing on skills honed during the company’s 70+ years of furniture production, and is balanced by the curved top rail which incorporates a useful hand hole.

The ‘Harvey’ range comprises two side chairs – a slim line model and one with more generous proportions – together with a pair of armchairs, one having arms set slightly back from the seat front and the other with flowing, full-length arms. A neat barstool completes the line-up.

Each model can be upholstered in either fabric or hide to suit customer requirements. To complement the upholstery, six standard wood-stain finishes can be offered: Natural Beech, Bleached Beech, Oak, Cherry, Walnut and Wenge, together with a full polish matching service to suit individual needs.
